MYSTERY AUTHOR, THIS IS AMAZING! I kept going through the opening banter between Arthur and Merlin, looking for my favorite bits, but I wanted to quote all of it - which would probably be a bit counterproductive. So I'm going to settle on:

"And that last one fainted, from your sheer magnificence, apparently, or you know, from hunger, because they probably needed food, more than getting their feet washed, and you decided I would do as a substitute?"

LOL.

I LOVE that Merlin is the Bean King... And the crossdressing! Haha! I love imagining Arthur and Uther in their respective gowns. XD

But what I really love is the OT4 vibe you've really managed to capture wit this. It's just wonderful how Gwen gives her token to the three. And then Arthur stole Merlin's kerchief as a token! AL;SDKFJSAJDAKF!!!!! This is just so wonderfully Arthur:

"I thought they were supposed to ask first?" he whispered to Gwen.

"Well, traditionally," she whispered back. "But then he'd actually have to talk to you about it, wouldn't he?"

And then:

Merlin will not get his kerchief back, though he will know where it is, in the box where Arthur keeps his precious, secret things.

Siggghhhh.

You made me laugh and squee and melt! Thank you so, so much, Mystery Author! (If you can't tell, I really really like it. XP)

I'm really delighted you liked it -- I love this OT4 so much, but I'd never thought of trying to write this kind of fic until I got your prompt. I'm so glad it worked for you!
