A too-strict guardian, someone who was tender and kind when she pleased him but threw her into prison when she didn't, Morgana both loved and hated Uther.
Growing up, a pampered princess adorning his court, she'd tried to be good. Helping the less-fortunate in times of need, managing his household, smiling, sympathetic and steadfast, she'd hoped to fill the void in his grief-stricken heart.
As long as it didn't affect her personally, she could afford to be generous and she was. The members of the court loved her; even the ordinary people could look to her for support.
Until she found out she had magic.
Alone, terrified that Uther would uncover her secret, she grew frantic. She needed power if she were to survive. He might love her but she knew he would destroy her without a single regret.
Then everything changed again. When she found out the truth.
She was Uther's daughter. Not Gorlois's but his.
There was a bright instant of belonging but again he denied her, pretended that there was no connection, talked only of Arthur's legacy. She then knew what she had to do.
She was not daddy's little girl after all.
And he would pay.
