Merlin taking charge and saving Arthur was a surprise and I like that Merlin isn't going to push. He made a terrible mistake and Arthur may not take him back but at least Merlin has an opportunity for closure now.

Poor both of them, but Merlin got there in time and hopefully they can talk and get a second chance. I liked this a lot, particularly that you left the relationship unresolved rather than trying to tie it all back up too quickly and neatly at the end.
