( Arthur and his father had agreed, the boy needed to be with family in stable conditions. He was coming home and Arthur had arrived with the best lawyers money could buy at his back to make sure. )

Arthur catching merlin in the act of parenting effectively should make him nervous. Merlin's much more than a gold digging algebra teacher. He's the only father Mordred's ever known and he seems to have been doing a pretty good job of it.

It's typical of Uther to send Arthur to do the dirty work. But it might also force Arthur to see that things aren't as black and white as he thought.

"Catching Merlin in the act of parenting" made me grin like a loon. Brilliant!

I'm glad Merlin isn't giving up without a fight, but with Arthur to contend with, I expect things will get messy... o_0

Yeah, these things are never easy. I made Gwaine/Gawin Merlin's champion to give myself hope. We'll see what future promts may bring. Tears I imagine, especially mine.
