Author's Notes: Lateness due to doing a course for work. I think this might be the start of something too, but we’ll see.
It was a while before Merlin longed to hear someone's voice again. But there was never silence in his mind. Between his inner voice and the one that pained him to remember, there was always a word created and heard in his head.
Sometimes the birds chatting in the trees were enough to keep the voices in his head at bay, but it was never long.
The horse helped. When he rode, the sound of the wind rushing past his ears would silence the noises temporarily but the like birds, it didn't last.
He had contemplated going back to Camelot; to Gaius, Gwen and the Knights. His tears would flow for hours after having these thoughts.
He couldn’t bare the thought of having to face the place that would remind him so much of what had left this world. Had left him.
