“What’s got you so anxious about searching the citadel?” Merlin asked Kilgharrah.
“In its current state, there are likely to be many pitfalls for someone of my size,” he replied.
“Oh, I didn’t think about that. Yeah, it could be dangerous for you. Do you want to stay together after all?”
“Yes.”
Merlin frowned. “It will take longer that way, but I’d rather not lose you again, old friend.”
“I appreciate that very much.”
They skirted the broken-up courtyard and up the steps to the main entrance. “Here goes nothing,” Merlin said, pushing open the broken-down doors with great care.
