Morgana slipped out of the house early the next morning. She needed to get away and have a few moments to herself.
She walked the path past the stables and down to the stream where she and Arthur had picnics with their nanny when they were young. She sat on a large rock and watched the water flow past her feet.
Morgana let her mind wonder.
She had hated Uther for years after he threw her out of her home. All because she was born with magick and wouldn't stop using it. What Uther didn't understand was she had no control over her powers and couldn't completely stop if she wanted to.
She wasn't sure how she felt about Uther's death. She knew she should feel something, anything but she felt nothing. She guessed that she was in shock. She sat and watched the water and waited for the shock to wear off. If it ever does…
Merlin had seen Morgana slip out of the house but decided to give her some space. Morgana didn't seem to need him at the moment.
Merlin put a kettle on and started his day. He had preparations to make for Gwen's arrival and then he would have to deal with Arthur’s hangover. His day was going to be long already without dealing with Morgana as well.
Merlin looked at the clock. He'd give her an hour then go check on her. He had an idea where she was. He had spent time down by the stream on that large rock in the bend.
