Author's Notes: What's that? A surprisingly sweet Galamor? Well, yes, I suppose it is EDIT: Sorry about the lack of cut, I checked it before I posted it and it was between the cuts, I don't know what LJ's doing right now but it really doesn't like me posting!
Mordred let it continue because it was clearly only hero worship. He had made knighthood before Galahad, become closer to Arthur faster. In the early days, he had swung his sword with greater skill than Galahad. It was natural that Galahad would look up to him.
But now Galahad surpasses him in Arthur’s favour, in his swordmanship. And Mordred would stop it, only it’s been going on for too long. He would stop it, except for the fact that whatever it is has started to be a little less than one-sided.
He tells himself that it must still be hero-worship. Galahad has surpassed him, so he’s… hero-worshipping him. It almost sounds worse than the truth. But the truth of the matter cannot be voiced.
In the depths of the night he lets Galahad come to his room, and there he shows Galahad his devotion. Strips him of the obstructing clothes and holds him upright and tall against the wall, kneels to him and opens his mouth and takes him in, makes him shake undone with his tongue and his lips. And afterwards he lets Galahad lead him to bed, open his legs wide, let Mordred fuck him as hard as he likes until they’re even and neither has given, or taken, more than the other.
Mordred even lets Galahad lie with him, one arm flung over his stomach, head buried in his chest, while Mordred lies still on his back. He lets Galahad do this, because it’s polite, and because it’s almost nice.
And in the daytime, the times when Mordred’s not supposed to care or at least show that he does, his devotion slips through. In the heightened sensitivity he has to Galahad’s position in the patrol, in the fight. The way he’ll check and double check any plans that Galahad’s involved in just to make sure he’ll be as safe as Mordred can make him. The way he’ll sneak him his favourite apple tarts from the kitchen and slip them onto his plate, into his saddlebags. And everyone will pretend not to know who it is, but they’ll all realise. Because it’s just a little obvious how much Mordred cares, if you take the time to look.
