Elyan and the others stayed for a while longer. They talked about old times and new times, and even speculated a bit about Gwaine. Leon told Merlin the specifics of the theater where they’d seen Gwaine, so Merlin could show up at the same time they’d seen him at, tomorrow.
Once they’d all left, Merlin flopped onto his sofa and turned to Kilgharrah. “That went rather well, didn’t it?”
“Indeed. Once you and the others unite with Sir Gwaine, you will be a force to be reckoned with.”
“I hope so. I’d like to think we’d be able to help Arthur face whatever is coming.”
“You will all need training, of course, to learn and grow together in power, but I do not foresee that interfering with your daily lives much.”
“That’s good to know.” Merlin yawned. “Kilgharrah, I don’t know about you but I’m ready for bed. Goodnight, old friend.”
“Goodnight, Merlin.”
