One by one, Gwen, Lance, and Leon arrived at Merlin’s house. He had forgotten that it was the night of a lunar eclipse-it seemed fitting, somehow, that he would be renewing his relationships with these three on a night like this.
Once they were all seated inside, Merlin spoke. “I want to introduce you to someone you never knew in your past lives, but who has helped me immeasurably then and now.” He gestured to Kilgharrah. “Meet Kilgharrah, the dragon.”
Lance laughed. “This is a dragon? He looks like a cat. Here, kitty, kitty.”
“Ah, the noblest knight of Camelot likes cats, does he?” Kilgharrah replied. And, just to show off, he belched a thin stream of fire.
Gwen, Lance, and Leon recoiled. Merlin frowned. “Don’t do that, Kilgharrah. You’ll set the sofa on fire.”
“As you wish,” he replied and sat.
“He’s really a dragon,” Gwen ventured.
“Oh yes,” Kigharrah said. “You may remember me as the dragon who attacked Camelot. I am sorry about that.”
Gwen and Leon winced. Merlin spoke up. “He did help me save Camelot many times after that. But we’re getting off track. Kilgharrah has helped me find each of you.” He held up the mirror. “I incant a simple spell and it shows me where someone is located. That’s how I found you, Leon.”
Leon nodded. “You were the sorcerer who saved us at Camlann. Gwen and Gaius filled me in.”
“Gaius! I wonder if he has been reincarnated too? Oh, and that reminds me . . . Gwen, you have a brother, right?”
“Oh my gosh, yes, Elyan! Why didn’t I think about him right off?”
“Where is he now? What does he do?”
Gwen thought for a moment. “He works in construction and is probably at his flat if he’s not out.”
“Can you call him and get him here?”
