Character/s: Gwaine, Lancelot, Merlin, Arthur, Morgana, Elaine(OC)
Summary: Morgana has a Halloween party
Warnings: None
Word Count: 367
Prompt: Ghosts
Author's Notes: This started as an image of these four as retro sheet ghosts, and grew a bit. It's not as polished as I'd like since I've been going out for Halloween or working

They all go to the party as ghosts. Merlin, Arthur, Gwaine and Lance, showing up on Morgana’s doorstep in retro holes-cut-out-of sheets. Elaine opens the door for them and just laughs, but when Morgana sees them it’s the full force of her glare they get.

“Really? You couldn’t have been any more imaginative?”

Arthur, or at least the sheet that sounds like Arthur, laughs.

“At least we’re co-ordinated, Morgana.”

Morgana huffs because it’s true; while she opted for a sexy Frankenstein’s monster costume, Elaine is a little ironically dressed up as a witch.  Lance brushes past them all with a sigh, tugging Gwaine into the party proper.

“As if it actually matters,” he says, smile hidden by the sheet.

They have eyeholes, and a mouth hole to drink through, but that’s it. And they’ve been quite sparing with the cutting, so it’s difficult to tell who’s who. Especially with the lights down (so Morgana’s pumpkins glow at their full beauty) and a few drinks in their system.

Gwaine treats it a bit like a lucky dip. He knows the other ghosts are his, so he reaches out for whichever passes him; a grope or a kiss to determine who’s who. His own personal Halloween game, that Merlin quickly catches on to and joins in. A quick chat with a friend, a drink, a kiss…

Arthur doesn’t usually socialise much. In parties like this he stands at the sidelines and watches. But these are people he’s known for years. He speaks when spoken to, enjoying the buzz, the humming sound of voices mingling together, the beat of the music. And, of course, the lips and the hands when they come for him.

Lance spots what Gwaine’s doing almost immediately. And of course he thinks it just a little immature. But he doesn’t complain, because Gwaine’s having fun, and he’s not disturbing anyone else… and, well, it’s nice to be kissed, especially when you least expect it.

They catch up with a lot of friends, dance a bit, play Morgana’s drinking games. But by two in the morning, they’re back home, four little patches of white on the moon-soaked bedroom floor, four men squashed into a bed, fast asleep.
