“I want you.” Merlin’s eyes widened as the words left his mouth too late to recall.
Lancelot choked and began to cough to cover the sound. “Now? You pick now to tell me?”
Merlin grinned sheepishly. “It could have been worse. I could have told you I loved you.”
All Lancelot could do was stand there staring at Merlin with his eyes wide and his mouth gaping open. Finally, he shook his head to clear it before he whispered, “I have to get back to training but later, when we’re in private you’re going to say those three little words to me again.”
As Lancelot turned and began walking back Merlin called out, “Which ones?” He lowered his voice to a mere whisper, “Want or love?”
Lancelot looked back over his shoulder with a grin. “Both. Definitely both.”
