“Hey Merlin,” Morgana said, “the Olympics start tonight.”
“I know,” Merlin replied.
“Why aren’t you more excited?”
“I am excited. I just have to get through a long day to get there.”
“Aww, come here.” Morgana reached for him and enveloped him in her arms.
“Thanks. I think you’re excited though. I see that your favorite, curling, is on a little earlier.”
Morgana drew back and punched him in the arm. “Curling is not my favorite. Men’s figure skating is.”
“Oh.” Merlin drooped.
“Merlin, what’s the matter?”
“Do you love me less because I’m not as athletic as those guys?”
She captured his face between her hands. “Merlin, look at me.” He looked up. “I do not love you less because you’re not very athletic. I love you more because you’re willing to admit it.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really.”
“Thank you.”
Morgana grinned. “Anytime, my love. Now let’s finish our breakfast and get to work. After all, your favorite, curling, will be on right as we get home.”
“You know, I think that’s actually a sport I could do.”
“I have no doubt.”
