Merlin looked out the window one bright morning. “Hey, Morgana, look! The wind is perfect for kite flying!”
Morgana walked up next to him. “It sure is. I think today is the perfect windy day to show Ellie the kites.”
“Great! I’ll make breakfast while you dig out the kites.” Merlin paused. “We haven’t gone kite flying since before Ellie was born.”
“No, we haven’t. We’ve just been too exhausted, I guess.”
Just then, they heard Ellie cry out. Morgana made her way to the nursery to get her up while Merlin went to the kitchen. When Ellie was changed, Morgana brought her to the kitchen and sat her in her highchair. Merlin kept Ellie amused while Morgana pulled their two kites from the closet. After a quick breakfast, they walked to a park near their home.
Merlin and Morgana assembled their kites and they rose high in the air. Ellie squealed and pounded her little fists on her stroller. Merlin grinned and bent down to hold the kite control near Ellie so she could put her hands on it. They all laughed when Ellie giggled at the fun she was having. After a couple hours of flying, Ellie got tired so they packed up and made for home.
Merlin and Morgana remembered their kite-flying morning with Ellie ever after.
