Summary: Merlin did his magic openly and Arthur has to do what he has to do

Arthur held his breath. He had suspected this for a while, but seeing Merlin doing magic shocked him nevertheless. Usually, he at least tried to conceal it, but if he hadn’t blasted the bad guys out of the courtyard, Camelot might have been doomed.
And yet, as he sank against the pillars with beating heart, Arthur couldn’t help the awe he felt for his manservant. The golden eyes and the roared spell had been quite impressive and he looked over to where Merlin stood and panted.
Merlin slowly turned his head to look in his direction with a mixture of fear and determination in his eyes.
What was he to do? Slowly, Arthur held out his hand for Merlin to help him up and then he did what he should have done a long time ago.
“Guess, we’ll have to find you some new clothes.”
Merlin looked at him as if he were daft. “Clothes?”
“You can hardly wear these old rags in your new position as court sorcerer.”
