Arthur stopped in his tracks when he saw Merlin standing in the kitchen, lovingly staring at a cucumber. It seemed he had washed it and was drying it with a dish towel.
Frowning, Arthur stood in the doorway to watch. He knew that Merlin could get really attached to food he bought at the market and was one of the rare people who really appreciated what they had on their plates. But this? Wasn’t this going a bit too far? What did Merlin plan for this cucumber?
A thought shot through Arthur’s mind. What if Merlin didn’t even think about making a salad or using the vegetable in a rice dish or something? What if…what if Merlin had the same naughty thought that he had at the moment?
He couldn’t hold himself back. “Nice cucumber you got there…” He wiggled his eyebrows.
Merlin startled slightly and then put the cucumber down on a board, picked up the big cutting knife and sliced the cucumber with a bit more force than necessary. “Just making a salad.” Grinning, he turned. “Or what did you think, you pervert?”
