“Come, Crimson Lad, let us go down the cliff to rescue the lost puppy,” said Arthur from the top of the play structure.
“But Crimson Avenger, is there a way to go down the cliff safely?” asked Crimson Lad, aka Merlin.
“See this natural slide here? We shall go down it.”
“Of course, Crimson Avenger.”
Arthur, followed by Merlin, slid down the long slide. They ran over to Merlin’s mum, who held the puppy on a leash. The puppy barked and wagged his tail as the boys ran up. “Don’t get him too excited, boys,” Merlin’s mum warned.
Arthur looked up from petting the puppy. “That’s Crimson Avenger and Crimson Lad to you, madam.”
“Why of course, Crimson Avenger. My mistake.”
Arthur’s nanny, sitting next to Merlin’s mum, giggled. The play park was the only place Arthur could portray the Crimson Avenger, as Arthur’s dad wouldn’t let him at home. She enjoyed watching her young charge interact kindly with others at the park.
“We saved the lost puppy!” said Merlin. “What shall we do next, Crimson Avenger?”
“Let us fly and see, Crimson Lad!” said Arthur. The two of them ran off to their next adventure, capes streaming behind them.
