Lament for a King

The sky flames crimson
Heavy clouds bleed red
Will the sun set forever
Since Arthur is dead?

The night grows darker
All nature turns black
No more light and no colours
Until he comes back

He was my sunlight
My radiant king
My soul soared at his presence
His death broke its wing

Hero of legend
An era of gold
Peace with justice and valour -
So shall it be told

While that may be true,
He meant more to me:
My whole heart and my one love,
My bright destiny

With hope kept alive
I'll wait to discern
In a crimson-gold sunrise
His promised return.
