Awwww that was so cute and I really like that you didn’t make the neighbors characters from Merlin. It made it feel more in modern day. Also I’m sorry about your father and sending you both all the good vibes and love and hope for a speedy recovery :)

Thanks!

Dad's back from the hospital, bruised all over, a few scrapes, but luckily nothing broken, not even concussed. He had so much luck.

Here's hoping his luck holds the next time he pulls the same trick, because he probably will. *shaking head at parents in love, affection, and exasperation*

He already talks about exchanging the piece of the ladder that broke off. We're trying to talk some sense into him. Alas....

Ooh poor Arthur! Poor Merlin! Sorry to hear about your dad- I hope he bounces back quickly. :)

From now on, Merlin will forbid any ladders around the house.

Dad is back from hospital. He was so lucky. No fractures, no concussion, just a few scrapes and a nasty cut on his forehead. And he's a giant walking bruise, but maybe that reminds him not to do anything like this again any time soon.

Well done. I can definitely see Arthur insisting that he can do it without help and Merlin rolling his eyes and worrying.

I’m glad to read in previous comments that your dad is okay. I know your worries... my 85 year old dad had to be rescued off my parents’ roof by the fire department last year! My mom argued with him the whole time he was setting up the ladder, but couldn’t stop him. Argh, stubborn men!

Yup. Stubborn stubborn, stubborn. My dad was trapped on top of the garage a few months ago, when a gust of wind blew the ladder over. Took him 45 minutes before someone finally noticed that he was up there. We thought he had learned his lesson

My brother fell with his ladder and anything could have happened. He probably only bruised/possibly broke a rib. Luckily he was able to get up himself (no neighbours) Hope your dad is alright. last thing you needed right?
Merlin loves his Arthur. Thank gods he is alright

Dad's a giant walking (or rather shuffling about) bruise, has some scratches, got stitches on his forehead. Luckily nothing was broken or worse.
