There were many days were Balinor stood in front of his cave, his expression distant as he stared in the direction of Ealdor. He longed to return to the village and to his lost love, but he feared Uther would find him and kill her in retaliation.
He sighed as he turned to enter the darkness once more. Hunith had probably moved on. He was nothing but a sentimental old fool, pretending that she wouldn’t.
Despite this knowledge, he longed to be by her side. They could have had a long and wonderful life together, but Uther ripped took that away from him, just as he had taken away Balinor’s kin.
All he had left was his life of solitude and his dreams of his lost love.
