Author's Notes: Sooo... I'm extremely late to the party, I am painfully aware, but I finally managed to write something. And it was too meta to once again fail to post. (But, darn diddely darn, how I struggle with writing... uggghhh...)
Arthur came home a little bit before six PM. He toed off his shoes and placed them on the shoe rack before he unbuttoned his coat and hung it on a hanger. He tapped a few taps on his phone and the sound system turned on, playing his favourite station at his preferred volume. In the bedroom he frowned at the unmade bed. He pulled the duvet in place and fluffed the pillow. The other side was not touched so he was done in mere seconds. He only briefly hesitated before he hung his blazer on the empty side of the wardrobe.
He sat down in the black leather sofa and looked around his living room. Everything was exactly where he wanted it. No hand-carved wooden chests or paintings some old lady had made decades ago to clutter up the place. The office was an office once more, not a storage room and certainly not a potentially nursery.
The only thing out of place were the papers, the pen and the ring on the glass table. Arthur gave them a glance over and grabbed the pen. At least in this he would not be accused of not keeping his promise.
