min7girl’s fault, all her fault!!!!
Uther was pleased with himself. His plan had worked out. His spoilt children had developed very well and - even though he had doubted it in Arthur’s case - their spouses didn’t take the money and run. They even worked together to keep Camelot as strong as ever.
Morgana and Leon were finally married and his third grandchild was on the way.
The only thing that left a bitter taste was the fact that Arthur didn’t speak to him anymore, that he’d excluded him from his life completely. His husband, Merlin, was a better guy than Uther had given him credit for. Not only had he taken the family fortune and put it in a trust fund for their little girl, he had informed Gaius about the important things in their life and sent photos of baby Issy, knowing that Gaius would relay these things to him. But it still stung that he hadn’t met her yet and that this part of the family was not really in his life.
Uther straightened his shirt before he stepped out to the traditional barbeque that Morgana and Leon had organized. He took a cocktail from the tray of a passing waiter and looked around.
His heart nearly stopped when he saw a familiar blond head making its way through the crowd towards him. He’d secretly wished for this moment but still wasn’t prepared for it. “Arthur.”
“Father.” Oh yes, that was his boy, just as incapable of knowing what to say as he was.
Uther was sure that their appearance at this event was Merlin’s doing and turned to greet him. A huge smile spread across his face when he laid eyes on the little girl on Merlin’s arm. She had Merlin’s black hair, but she had Arthur’s eyes and luckily she had not inherited Merlin’s ears. She looked at him curiously and his mouth went dry as he tried to swallow around the lump in this throat.
“Issy,” Merlin whispered, “say ‘hi’ to your grandpa.”
