hmmmm. raver bear. riiight. i guess i am usually happy, but not drug-induced happy... *at this point kristen stops talking because she realizes she is rambling on like an idiot*
Today was a good day - i mean, it's friday, so how can it not be? I went to a great horn clinic with the cool horn dude from the Dallas Brass who rocks my world because he's so good; go Horn Fan Club! And then there was a nice band concert with all the super-cool guys from Bellevue West - the Cloudburst song is the coolest! OK, so i have to explain this one... It was a song about a rainstorm, and about 2/3 of the way through, the conductor gestured for the audience to snap their fingers, and it really did sound like rain! That has to be one of the coolest effects ever written into a song.
Tomorrow it's Symph. Band's turn to rock the convention... 2:15 at Kimball, in case anyone's interested. It'll be great - i even have a solo, and it's in this great Mendelssohn piece. We rehearsed that one today, and it was awesome. I felt like i was playing so well, and everyone else was too, and i was totally engrossed in the music. It was so exciting! I can't wait until the actual performance tomorrow!
