Well, from the looks of things, the older students enjoyed their trip.  It seemed like it would be interesting, so I'm happy people got something out of it.

The dance was fun too, I have to admit. I certainly didn't expect to get complimented. I really should say thanks to Minato for that. I'm glad I went, I guess I worried a bit too much over it ( Read more... )

feeling pretty, thinking, kusarigama, field trip, letter home, minato, the dance, homework, astronomy

Well yes, didn't you Maka?

Err...I probably would have enjoyed it more if things didn't end up so awkward, but that's all right, I'm glad you had a good time.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, I feel a little bad for going on so much.

Um, well it's none of my business, but are you okay, it didn't turn out too badly right? I only ask in case I could help.

Don't apologize for having fun just because I have bad luck.

It's beyond help, trust me. I just saw Kid and spoke with him when I was trying to avoid him in the first place.

Still, I wouldn't have made such a big deal of it if I had known. It doesn't seem fair that you missed out on the enjoyment.

Avoid him? I don't think I understand, did you two have an argument or something? He said he had a good time, though, that's strange...

It's fine, Tsubaki, honestly.

...Not exactly. I didn't know if Papa was going to be there or on the trip, so it was for the good of Kid not getting a scythe in his skull. Those people that visited last week...one of them gave Papa the wrong idea about Kid and me.

Well, if you're sure. Perhaps the next event the school has will turn out better for you.

Oh...I see. Well he is a pretty overprotective parent, I'm sure Kid would have understood if he knew that you were only looking out for him.

In this school? Not likely. But expect the worst and hope for the best, right?

Oh, no, I think he has no self preservation instinct. I said to him it would probably be better if we weren't around each other until Papa cooled off, yet I met up with him because he was eavesdropping on a conversation I was having with Arisato.

Well, if you keep thinking of the worst possible outcome, you won't enjoy anything. Sometimes you just have to have fun and have no regrets, since you don't know how long it will last. I'm sure there will be good times for you soon.

Oh, so maybe Kid just felt left out of everything. Still, it goes to show he must appreciate you as a friend if he's willing to risk having your dad come after him.

We'll see. Maybe there will be an event that isn't annoying someday.

You think so? He has other friends, though. I don't know why it would matter so much that he'd risk being castrated.

I'm sure there will be. If not, you could hold an event of your own. Something as simple as spending time with friends during the holidays maybe.

Even so, I'm sure he values you just as much as any of his other friends, he can like them all in different ways. I'm sure he appreciates you for the good person you are, and knows you're a worthwhile friend to have, so it's worth the risk. I certainly see something to like and admire in you Maka.

Hey, Tsubaki, speaking of that: your birthday's next month, isn't it?

…Sorry, to bug you with my problems. I must sound so self-centered. It doesn't matter, really. As long as Kid doesn't think I'm a hussy, it's fine. But I still think he shouldn't have done that.

Oh, yes you're right. I'll be fourteen on the fourteeth.

It's alright, I'm glad to help. I'd be more worried if you kept it to yourself. It's fine as long as you and Kid are okay.
