Yesterday evening, while watching the show MonsterQuest on the History channel, I learned about super-sized fish living in the waters of the world. And I don't mean sharks.
Featured in the program were stories of catfish as big as a small boat and large enough to swallow a small child. And Alligator Gar that can fight with alligators...and win!
Interesting enough, I learned from the show that Alligator Gar can be found in Dallas' own Trinity river. And that's like not far from my own house. Kinda a scary thought huh?
The only time I've seen a gar was when my dad brought home 3 fish for dinner and there was one among the selection. Never got the chance to eat it for he got rid of it. Would've been considered exotic for eating shark before but I guess that'll be something for later in life.
