I was very drunk last night...after I came home from the bar, i wrote this e-mail. To my whole family. The VERY Christian side.....
"To whom it may concern-
I am gay. Attracted to men. Contrary to popular believe it is genetic, not brought on my enviromental "effects." Love me as you always have. Let it not effect the way you think of me. You can all stop speculating and stop talking behind my back.
-daniel-
ps- its not contagious.............."
My only reply so far....from my Aunt Ann..
"Dear Daniel,
I want to respond to your email. I will not stop loving or caring about you because of your decision, however I will share my thoughts on the gay lifestyle. Please don't take this as a lecture. It is my true thoughts on the subject.
First of all being gay is not genetic. Our Lord created you and he did not make you gay. I truly believe that being gay is a choice. You know enough of our Lord's word to know that he looks at homosexualty as a sin. So do I.
Everybody sins Daniel and some people have more serious attacks against them from the enemy.
You know that Satan is our enemy and that he attacks us daily to go against our Lord. Some people get attacked through their body such as disease. We all get attacked through our thoughts and feelings. Satan uses thoughts and feelings to get us to go against what we KNOW is right. We are all in a battle on a daily basis to do what is right. To follow our Lord and his word.
If you go against what you know is right and true in God's word it will lead to destruction. You will not be happy. You can not live your life through your feelings. I know it is the easiest, you get instant gratification, but it is very dangerous. Your feelings are very fickle and because they change so much it is the easiest tool that Satan uses to attack you. He also uses the secular media, people and pornography and physical addiction as a means to attack you.
Daniel, I pray that you will read this and have a better understanding of what is happening to you. You will have to fight this
battle, but we will all be here for you and pray for you.
Love,
Aunt Ann"
