Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion came out last tuesday (3/21) since then I've clocked 50 solid hours on the game (the save games tell you how much real-world time you've been playing). So I understand any obsessive playing or people vanishing into a video game for a few weeks :)

Basically, if I haven't been asleep, or at work, I've been playing that game.

I'm just a journeyman alchemist so far... I pretty much just sell off potions I come across as an easy way to earn money. I have hundreds of ingredients stocked up in my house in Cheydenhal (sp) so I guess I could sit down and just churn out random potions to level up the skill.

On my person I have 105 Strong Healing Potions and 43 Strong Sorcery Potions. I sell or store the rest.

Got about 60k gold now... I'm a regular tycoon in the game! Oh, and I run the Mages Guild now :)

I've heard the game gets pretty difficult as you gain more levels. Any truth to that or are you uber after level 15 or so?

The game scales according to your level. So the challenge should remain comparable all the way through. But it's still possible to be overpowered, at any level. I got some uber armor and a great weapon way before I was supposed to in the quest series, so the early levels were a breeze for me.

You are totally kicking my/our ass. (My boyfriend and I are playing together, with him doing the fighting bits and me doing the plant-gathering bits.) How do you get a HOUSE?

Every city in the game has a house for sale. You have to talk to someone in each town's castle/hall (or in the Imperial City, the Commerce Office in the Trade District) They range from costing 2k for a shack in the Imperial City, to 20k for a mansion in Chorrol (That's where I live).

I sell almost everything I get in dungeons. And a lot of my time early on in the game was spent wandering the countryside, jumping in every cave, fort and dungeon I came across.
