Dreams of June 30th

I had three pretty odd dreams last night. Two of them seemed to kind of run into one another, whereas the third was entirely different.

The first dream was the most interesting. It involved Stephanie, Lil’ Guy and I and we were walking through desolation- There weren’t really any people nearby amongst small shantee houses weathered and dry and vast fields of yellowed, overgrown grass. We were actually walking down a paved road and came to a small, what used to be urban area. There was a pretty formidable hill that this building was set in. We walked into the courtyard area of this U-shaped building and there was an escape ladder, but only went from the last story to the roof. However, there was this mechanism that you held onto and it lifted you onto the roof. I voulenteered to go up it. It was interesting because it was basically this long rod and pivoted on a single hinge. As I got to the top end of its swing my weight shifted making it easier and I dropped to the roof. The contraption wouldn’t go back down though, so I advised Stephanie and Lil’ Guy to continue either way and I would try to meet up with them.

After parting ways I jumped off this roof onto the hill that crested just behind it. On top of the hill was a dirt road that was the type of road with two ruts with short grass down the middle. It was windier up here. I spotted a humanoid figure off in the distance towards a broken picket fence that was also weathered, and a T-intersection. I approached it rather cautiously and it started to make it way toward me. I didn’t try to speak because I was so focused on figuring out what was wrong with this person. As the distance between us lessened the faster it approached me. Before I knew it the figure was coming at me sprinting. I struggled too long to figure out what was wrong and identifying it as a danger. It was a zombified human in a hurry to hurt me. I did not panic, and did not try to break away by running the other direction. I stood my ground and braced for physical confrontation. When I was within reach of its arms it had grabbed my shoulders and I threw my shoulder into the creature and pushed it back a couple of feet. It came at me again and I went to punch it in the head and it took hold of my forearm and bent my arm back to just in front of my face. I then attempted to take my left arm and elbow this thing in the head. I failed in doing so as it grabbed my elbow. Now I was in a pretty awkward position with both arms locked in front of my face. With my arms bent and placed in such a manner the Zombie could not rip into my flesh as I was able to keep it at bay, and off balance with my legs. I was simulating multitudes of exit strategies in my head…

Meanwhile I did a cut scene in my head and had an ominiscient view of Lil’Guy and Stephanie. They were on a similar style road but it was forested. The air felt dense and moist. They were a little on edge because of rustling trees and the occasional noise. They eventually came to a clearing that had a school residing in it. They went inside looking to see if they could make contact with anyone from there. The scene inside was rather disasterous with the walls being void of any covering, and that covering was broken up and pushed to the edge of walkways. They made their way into a bathroom and Stephanie was calling out, “Hello? Anyone around here?” A boy wearing a boy wearing a maroon and gold colored basketball uniform ducked out from under a stall and started conversing with them. Stephanie was trying to determine where they were at and the boy was trying his best to help. Stephanie asked him to come out and go with them. He hesitated stubbornly. As they debated one of his teammates had crawled out from a stall further down the row. He was pale and looked like he had been mauled. He made his way toward the group. The first boy noticed this and started freaking out, crying and whining that he didn’t know what happened and just wanted this to end. The undead boy crawled his way on top of the live boy. Stephanie and Lil’Guy ran out of the bathroom…

The next thing I saw, still in an omincient view was Stephanie and Lil’Guy. They had found “Survivors” and were walking on a different road. This road was much like the one I had come across. Their hill was slightly steeper, but coming to a crest…

I cut back to myself. I was still wrapped up by this Zombie. I was trying to figure out how to get to a knife I had stored strapped to my lower leg. I also kept thinking, “I wish I had a gun.” My last thought was, “I hope Stephanie and Lil’ Guy get here soon…”

I then cut back to them and they had crested the hill. They could see a wrestling match going on between a normal figure and a slightly pale figure. Lil’ Guy figured out that it was me- spotting the building off to the left. People just started to run towards the zombie and I just as I came out of this dream.

The second dream had a similar atmosphere, but a bit more grounded. Stephanie and I had Lil’ Guy with us and we were curious to see how things were going with the Condo we tried to purchase. The yard was filled with overgrown grass and now treeless. They attempted to build a swing bench. We walked in and the floor was being redone, and there was scaffolding in the unit. They walked ahead and went upstairs. The unit now had a basement and as I started to walk down I heard Jae, the real estate agent talking. He was showing the unit. I ran up stairs and darted to the stairs. I exclaimed to Stephanie and Lil’ Guy, “Quick! Hide!” I bolted outside and hid behind tall grass, just in front of a covered area meant for fire logs. Of course they happened to walk by. I began to get really nervous. I was breathing hard, and had sweat beading off my head and down my arms. They looked in my general direction, and I couldn’t tell if they saw me or not. Regardless, I woke up.

The last dream took place in some back yard. It was a bon-fire event and so everyone was there: Richard, Jon, Kyle, Jeff, and Stephanie. Who was also there that’s not usually not attending was my parents. We had gathered a few fairly large branches of cedar. My dad got the fire going and was burning some smaller boards and corn stalks. He just kept on throwing branches of cedar into the pile. The first was Christmas tree-esque and was actually outside the pit leaning inward. It caught fire and the flames leaped up to 10-15 feet. He then add a long arched branch into the fire and rested it on the pile. The flames leapt even further and smaller, burning branches were dropping around his side of the fire pit. He then took the burning, arched branch and threw it on the ground because people were starting to yell at him. This branch started a bigger fire. We definitely got what we bargained for with essentially two bon fires; One outside the pit and one inside. He then grabbed a hose which was leaking heavily from the spigot and poured water all over the fire-torched lawn and the fire pit. Then everyone began yelling at him because it was going to be difficult to restart the fire in the actual pit.

I don’t know what warranted any of the dreams, especially the first. The second one I think was because we paid the settlement for the Condo yesterday, and we drove past a different Anhalt last Friday. The last dream is remotely related to it being summer and the season for bon-fires.
