The Political Ramblings of a Hate Monger

So here it is, the ever infamous opinions of Adam. Now the dangerous aspect of this is that everything is put out on paper, so my words can come back to haunt me. But seeing as I am one arrogant asshole, and believe I am 99.99997% correct about everything, this isn’t a fear ( Read more... )

=)

I know we're coming from the same realm of thinking. I'm glad to say that we didn't know anyone trying to abuse that system- because I'm sure I would have found that extremely frustrating, especially with the people I did know who were really struggling. Granted, as far as I know they are all now off welfare, still members of the 'working poor', but in a better situation than before. With the limited help that welfare gives, and the way in which people are treated, I find it so mind-boggling that people try to use it on purpose- it's really pathetic.

Other states also have systems set up so that single moms get daycare while at work, and other things like that, that could be beneficial.. on another note- I never experienced this with St. Wendelin too much, but at home, in Arcadia, it is set up much the way you describe- a lot of people pull together to try to help each other out. Granted its hard because no one in Arcadia is exactly wealthy, but things like taking someone in for a few days and cooking for families (like your mom had offered) does occur. It's a tall order Adam- revamping the system, regulating it better, and community support of one another.

On another note- I didn't read all of your Immigration stuff, but speaking of that- I thought this was interesting. I forget the man's name, but the top literary figure/writer in Mexico called illegal immigration/immigration the "Silent reclaiming of the United States." This was on a PBS video that was a couple years old- but oy!

Loanwise- I'm following the plan - I can always get a well-paying job with my packaging degree- we're in high demand for just about every business. Anthropology- not so sure how much I'll make, it's a huge range, from nothing to a good amount- but the loans can always be paid off with some work in the packaging field if all else fails. =)

Plus Adam, I've realized that I don't think I know how to do anything the easy way, so I'm probably not as terrified of more loans as I should be- the prospect of doing something that I would love to do overpowers that.

Are you going to do grad school stuff too or are you good to go? I'm just trying to figure out where everyone's going to be next year....

Minionwise, And as Christy and I always say:
C: Jayme, what are you planning on doing tonight?
J: The same thing I do every night- try to take over the world!
C&J: Mwwuuuahahaha.

I love having minions...

I send them out to do my evil bidding...I have no intentions of world domination, however, because I don't want the world under one banner where everyone could bitch to me. I think I'll start small, and take over some strange foreign land....like Vermont.
