John Lasseter has pulled the plug on the DisneyToons productions. No more "
Fox and the Hound 2." No more "
Cinderella 3." Theatrical sequels, sure. But no more DTV junk. Looks like the Mouse House is taking a turn towards quality over quantity these days.
The head of the DisneyToons division has been dismissed, and once "Tinkerbell" and the in-production "Little Mermaid 3" are finished, we'll be done with the stuff once and for all. I mean, really: How many parents are going to spin "
101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure" more than once?
As far as the "Tinkerbell" flick goes, it looks like there's still a lot of work to be done. Hats off to Lasseter for putting a stop to projects like "Meet the Robinsons 2: First Date" and "Chicken Little 2."
Plus the guy's also directing "
Toy Story 3." My new hero.
