Follows on directly from the DWM Big Finish audio The Veiled Leopard, which featured the two sets of companions but never allowed them to meet, which was an awful shame. Spoilery for said audio, but perfectly comprehensible if you haven’t heard it.

Recced because: I hadn't yet heard The Veiled Leopard the first time I read this story. I loved it anyway. Since then I've listened to Veiled Leopard four or five times, and I love this fic even more. It's just the kind of continuation I wish that audio really had had, throwing two of my favorite companion teams together and letting them getting to know each other. Their interaction includes getting drunk, flirting, and gossiping about the Doctor. All good stuff. Bonus: two amusing scenes with my favorite Doctors (today, anyway), Five and Seven.
‘That’s definitely the Doctor,’ sighed Peri.
‘Total disaster area?’ said Ace.
‘Never an explanation in sight?’ said Hex.
‘Complete pandemonium!’ Erimem added happily.
Peri grabbed her hand and tugged her close, knocking her asp askew yet again. ‘You know what this means, Erimem?’
‘No, Peri,’ she replied dutifully.
‘It means we should celebrate.’
‘More cocktails?’
‘More cocktails.’
