This is the first thing I've written since the run in with the black dog, so forgive me a rush of nerves. I've been wanting to work on a couple of sequels, but don't seem to be in the right frame of mind yet, and this insisted on being written, thanks to a BBC news story about a table and chair. ignoring the whole lot, which may be advisable!

If the first one's anything to go by it really wouldn't be advisable. That was excellent (and I'm sure the others will be just as good). I loved the way you got inside "the child's" head and showed us what he was seeing from his point of view. Both the sense of place and the relationships of the characters came over really strongly and that last line was very poignant. Many thanks and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Thank you, Kathy. Very happy (and relieved) that you enjoyed it. I'm glad the family's relationship came over OK - that was kind of what I was aiming to do. Hope you like the other parts, too.

Goodness - that was beautiful. Elegantly written, perfectly paced - I loved it all and I'm unable to find the right words to praise it!

Aww... thank you Elisabeth! It was a bit nerve-wracking coming back to the writing after everything, but it does feel good. And I'm a bit less nervous about it now it's posted, thanks to comments like yours :)

Thanks! I've not written William before, and certainly not as a child! It was interesting. And now I'm going to do it again. Wheee!

You knew I swore never to read another William fic ever again, didn't you? ;)

Hee! The sacrifices you make for your friends...

Only one more William. I'm resisting the temptation to go through his life one year at a time.
