Hehe. I blew my paycheck.
It’s something I haven’t done in a long time, but used to a lot. I’m starting to worry a bit about my cash flow and Texas, but I know I’ll have enough. I just needed a bit of monetary release. Between a tax return, my usual checks, a small bonus, and my vacation pay, it shouldn’t be overly hard.
One thing I did drop a bit of cash on was a firing range. I stopped by this local shop… On Target. I was amazed to find an FN57. Apparently, they’ll be making ammo for it that doesn’t pierce body armor, thereby making it legal.
I ended up renting a Sig Sauer p220 9mm, and a random 40cal Glock with parabellum rounds. I scored about a 66% accuracy. Not that bad for my first time with a handgun.
Of course, I had to be immature. I got down to my last few shots, and like some movie hero, I loaded a single bullet, fired it all one-handed-dramatic, and dropped the clip to the ground. I later realized how stupid I must have looked in earmuffs, safety goggles over my glasses, and the subsequent scrambling to find the clip.
I also bought a Nerf Revolver with which I annoy the cat and plan to modify into the Montavier. Yee!
Yes, I know none of you care about guns, but… meh. Twas fun for me.
