In memoriam
One of my aunts, Deena Ashkenaz, passed away earlier this week after a very long, hard battle with cancer. My dad's side of the family is in Chicago today for the service & probably sitting shiva.
One of aunt Deena's daughters is developmentally challenged. She's so sweet, and I'm a bit worried about how she might hold up after this.
Her passing is probably tough for our family, because as mentioned earlier, she fought very long and very hard, but it just got to be too much. I never got to really know Aunt Deena, partially because she lived so far away, and partially because she's been so sick.
I just wish I could be there...
Anyway, Aunt Deena, I hope you find peace and comfort wherever you may go from now on.
