My mom's blood sugar bottomed out at 41... we got a bunch of food in her, and she's doing better now. I wouldn't admit it but it was pretty damned scary :p I asked her "If it bottoms out again overnight, who should I call?" "No one, we've got the orange juice, milk, cookies, bananas... we'll do like we did now ( Read more... )

Had a lady come into work the other day while we had a massive amount of people. She just muscled up to the register and said "Look, I'm going to grab this cup and get some pop and after I get it I will come back and pay for it as you're busy." My coworker gave me a confused 'help me!' look, I shrugged, the lady put her wallet down on the counter and then walked off to the soda fountain. She did come back, got a sandwich, and paid for it all. Anyways, after things had calmed down she came up to me and thanked me for letting her do that - apparently she was diabetic and her blood sugar had tested at 43 before she rushed down here to get something to eat.

It suddenly clicked why she was in such a panic about getting some pop into her system, but I completely understood, she had to take care of her body and do what was needed to keep herself healthy and alive. Also, I just get WEIRD people in my store it seems. It's what I get for the store being in a Walmart. ;)

Hope your mom's okay though Zmo - diabetes is a hard disease to live with and is usually lifelong. :/

Was this at the Subway? Damn...
Thanks, though. Both my parents are diabetic, but my mom was only diagnosed about 5(?) years ago.

Miss you. :)

Of course it was at Subway! The only other place I work is doing inventories - which, in that case, I wouldn't talk about people making sandwiches. ;) *bonks on the head lightly* Silly Zmo!
