day for mothers
killed by brothers
sometimes for
thrills but mostly
to pay the bills
poor soldiers
fight the war
for the rich
who don't go
in the ditch

and for those sons
and fathers who
kill others, say they
protect the mothers
  (save your momma,
your macho gun drama,
a life, and go home to
your wife)

and for the daughters
with babes unborn
by bombs kept warm
when the rubble clears
wipe your tears, teach
them truth, teach them love
and to have no fears

and for all the momma's babies
who take up the AK-47s
for whom their momma's past protection
it's their home they are defending
USA perpetrates terrorization.
