Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Retsu is a shinigami, and her training reflects that. Though she has yet to be shown in combat, sources indicate that she is a masterful swordsman, and very adept with both destructive and binding magics. Her reiatsu (spiritual pressure) is also extremely powerful.

What Retsu is more commonly known for is her healing prowess. She practices medical kidou with great skill, able to heal wounds that were all but certain to be fatal, including bisection. She accomplishes this without assistance, and within a short period of time. No one in Soul Society matches her ability in this area.

The power most commonly manifests as a green glow around her hands. With such a technique, she restores the body's reiatsu, then uses her own in conjunction with it in order to facilitae the healing process. In theory, this would mean that she has an easier time healing a powerful individual, but her reiatsu is immensely strong on its own, meaning that she has little trouble either way.

Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? N/A

Weapons: Her zanpakutou, Minazuki. In its sealed form, it is a nodachi - a long, two-handed Japanese sword. In its released state, the sword dissolves into a green mist, and re-forms into a giant, flying, manta-like creature whose saliva has strong healing properties.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: Here
Point in Canon: Chapter 422
Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history: N/A

Character Personality: The first thing anyone is likely to notice about Retsu is her calm, gentle demeanour. When she speaks, her voice is soft, but strong and unwavering, showing complete confidence in what she says. She is unafraid to speak up and offer her opinions.

There is a maternal quality about her, one that she exudes whether she actively tries to or not. She has lived for over two thousand years, and on some level does regard many of those she cares about as her children. She does not patronize, but she does offer her wisdom and guidance to those who ask or those she feels are in great need.

Retsu is extremely perceptive, even to the point of suspecting something was off while under the effects of Aizen's illusions - which are supposedly perfect. Though she was unable to discern his exact actions and motives, she was the first to suspect that he was up to treachery. And she took appropriate action.

Though she is a skilled swordsman, Retsu feels that her primary duties are as a healer and advisor. She will fight if she deems it necessary, but such a necessity is extremely rare. All shinigami can fight. Not all shinigami can heal; her expertise in that area is what's needed.

She has a firm sense of duty and tries to abide by the rules to accomplish what needs to be done. She will not violate a rule lightly, but she will do it if she feels it's needed. And while she is straightforward, she understands lying to someone on their deathbed in order to give them comfort in their final moments. She does not begrudge it.

Calm, gentle, and patient though she is, Retsu is feared even among the other captains. She never raises her voice, but when someone steps out of line, she smiles brightly and speaks cheerfully . . . with the result of those she's speaking to fleeing in terror more often than not. Those actions somehow reflect an inherent threat, and no one wants to risk her wrath. Retsu pretends to be confused about why people run away from her, but she knows, and secretly finds it amusing.

That last quality reflects her impish side. In non-professional situations, she is inclined to allow silly things to happen so long as they don't harm anyone, such as humouring Yachiru's wild ideas for the Shinigami Women's Association. She may be old, but she isn't stuffy. While she may not laugh outright at some outrageous things, she will often smile in amusement or indulgence and make no efforts to hide this. Life is too precious a thing to not be enjoyed, after all.

Conditional: Personality development in previous game: N/A

Character Plans: She would seek to help others whenever she could, probably taking a job at Skye Medical because its philosophies best mirror her own. She's the type to share wisdom, and advise others on important matters. And she would more than likely remain neutral.

[The feed opens to a well-kept apartment, tastefully furnished and sporting several potted plants - flowers and herbs. Those who know of such things will see that the plants are just as well cared-for as the apartment itself.]

I must say that I am still unused to such a modern setting, even though some of the conveniences are quite charming. I do so miss having the opportunity of visiting the mountains.

Nevertheless, the city can be quite lovely in the springtime if one knows where to look. I've had the opportunity to visit a few of the parks and spied some very beautiful blossoms that are uncommon in my home. We may be trapped in this place, but that does not mean that we should not appreciate whatever beauty we might find here.

Third Person Sample

Even though times might have changed, it seemed that people had not. Packed so tightly together, and many of them in this place against their will, including herself, Retsu could not find it in herself to be surprised. She had seen similar situations before. Quite often in fact.

Two older men seemed to have taken it upon themselves to hassle a young teenage boy. For what reason did not matter; the boy was clearly uncomfortable and unable to make them leave. She would not abide those who harassed the vulnerable.

"Pardon me, but I do believe that this boy requested you leave him to himself."

Both men turned their attention to her, one looking faintly annoyed, and the other all but leering after he studied her face. She remained impassive to both.

"And are you gonna listen to us if we tell you to take a hike, lady?" The first one all but snorted. "Get lost. This isn't your business."

The second man put a hand on his partner's shoulder as though to admonish him. "Hey, now. That's no way to speak to such a pretty lady." He turned his attention back to her and smiled in a way he likely assumed was charming. "We'll be with you in a minute, sweetheart. We just have something to take care of here."

Retsu cleared her throat when they turned to accost the boy again and smiled broadly when they looked at her. "Now what sort of business could you have with this child? Surely grown men have so many more important things that they could be doing. I would dearly hate to see you waste your time and effort. Such a thing is always a shame, do you not agree?"

Her words were cheerfully spoken, but there was an underlying quality of threat that people seemed to pick up on instinctively. The two men certainly seemed to have done so, if their pale faces and suddenly sweating foreheads were any indication. And if those signs weren't enough, the fact that they bumbled out clumsy apologies and took off running down the street certainly indicated that they had gotten the message.

She smiled more benignly at the boy. "There you are. Are you all right?"

The boy blinked, then burst out a giggle of nervous amusement. "Y-yes, ma'am. Thank you." He glanced down the street at the fleeing men and let out an unrestrained laugh.

"You are quite welcome." Retsu lightly patted him on the shoulder and continued on her way.

*Revision Request* Though Unohana and Hitsugaya are both division captains, their canon interaction has been minimal, and they would travel in different circles in Siren's Port, being that their interests and preferred roles are different enough to each other that a lack of overlap would not be out-of-character. If Hitsugaya ever winds up injured enough to need medical attention, one of the other doctors/healers in the city would attend to that. Unohana would have her own patients to look after, and she can't be there for even her fellow shinigami all the time.
