Today has been fun, taking a job aptitude test and visiting two different hospitals.
First the test:
Went down to Turlock this morning to take an aptitude test for a Cashier Server position with the school district. 15 people were there to take the test but only 13 of us did (1 had already taken it and didn't need to retake it. the second had their kid with them who wasn't allowed to sit in on the testing, so they left). We were given 60 minutes to complete the 34 question test, average time of completion is 30 min. I was done in about 12. As these were scantron tests, they had the results later in the day. 33 of 34 correct. This should get me to the next level and get an interview.
First hospital visit:
My mother had surgery this morning on her foot, removing a hammertoe and relieving a knot of nerves that have caused her great pain when walking or standing for long periods of time. It went great, taking an hour and a half. Recovery took a bit longer but is home now and doing good. Orders are not to get it wet until Monday when stitches get removed, and to keep it elevated for 2-3 weeks to help the healing process go faster.
Second hospital visit:
This was for myself, I ended up in the ER tonight. A little after 5, while at CVS to get my mom's prescriptions, I had a bad case of vertigo. It wore off in about 20 sec but left me dizzy. When I got home, I began sweating profusely. Even with A/C and a fan pointed directly at me, I felt as if in a sauna. Started feeling shakes and ended up vomiting twice, so off to ER I go. While I haven't had need of a hospital in a long time, I have some friends that could claim it like a second home so I know how long they can usually take. I was seen, triaged, EKG'd, blood tested, and given a room all in about an hour. Long stay for results: Stress attack. My EKG is good, blood is good, sugar good, no damage to heart, blood pressure is high. After just sitting in a bed, waiting for the results, my body calms down and I am sent home with a couple of prescriptions and told to see a doctor as soon as I can to make sure nothing else is wrong.
So, I have tonight off of work, and will be heading to the clinic this week to begin the process of finding out what is going on.
Fun..
