End of the season

May 17, 2009 10:24

I'm almost caught up on my shows' season finales. I'll be watching the last two eps of SPN with friends tonight, even though I'm actually way behind on it (and there's still that whole need-to-start-from-the-beginning thing and the haven't-watched-more-than-two-eps-since-the-Titanic-ep thing). I think the only thing left might be Party Down, and that's this Friday.

And yay! my shows didn't disappoint. Now, if only Chuck is renewed (safe bet!) and Kristin Bell's appearance on Party Down's finale is a winner, all will be well. That's not too much to ask, right?

What I watched this week, and obligatory spoilers:

The Office
OMFG I <3 this show! Jam are so neverendingly cute and BABIES (gotta be, right?). I'm not usually a huge fan of ships and such moving into baby territory unless it fits, but it does fit for them, so that's awesome. Did anyone else think Jim was the cutest ever in this ep, even when being picked on by that douche Charles?
Michael and Holly made me so sad. They are *perfect* for each other. I just hope that for once, Michael is right about their long epic love, and Holly better not run off and get married to that other guy (what's his name? yeah, not important enough). Plus, I miss her on the show.
And what was that about Dwight defending Angela? Oh, yeah, it was awesomeness and I really hope we see more of that. Totally reminds me of S1 when they were all super secretive and in love. I do love them together.

Parks & Recreation
I can't help but love this show and am stoked there will be more. I watched the producer's extended version on Hulu, and I don't know what was added other than the string of possibly-not-safe-for-network-TV band names coming from Andy. Funny, but my favorite part was at the end. I do like Rashida Jones in this (didn't like her in Office because of the messing with my ship), but she's cool. But she was bitchy to Mark (and how can you be mean to him?), and I thought that after the last ep I'd end up shipping them, but after this week, I'm all for Leslie and Mark. Although with Mark injured and Ann trying to break up with Andy and running to tend to injured Mark, I'm thinking that won't happen. But tension and strife are why we have ships, so yeah, whatever.

Rockville, CA
Does anyone else in the world watch this or know of its existence? It's cute, it's got good music, and although the acting and story are pretty low-end, I must repeat that it's cute. And super easy to watch because it's so short (like 6 minutes short), online, and they put out like 2 eps a week (maybe?). I don't even care that it feels like a plug for some record label. It's got Ryan Hansen playing a total Dick Casablancas, so that's cool. And it was created by Josh Schwartz, the Chuck and OC guy. It's had lots of cuteness lately. I don't even know if it's going to have more eps, but I'll watch if they're out there. Anyway, it keeps me coming back.

Party Down
This is seriously growing on me. I only started watching it because it's Rob Thomas's and it has a plethora of VM people in it (and I really wanted to like it), and it started out a little iffy. But it has gotten a lot better lately as they've developed the characters. And Ryan Hansen doesn't actually play a douche, which is nice. And it doesn't hurt that every ep has the promise of a guest starring VM actor. And I like Henry. I always feel so bad for Ron, but it's also quite funny the situations he gets himself into. Renewed, too. :-)

Oh, and 30 Rock, which was funny as always. And Castle, too, but I'm watching it again tonight with friends who haven't seen it, so I'm not talking about it yet. But I did love it. Yay, renewal!

It's been a great season.
