Extremely Late TOOL Update
Ok.....so I said that I'd tell about TOOL. Well, for starters.....Mushugga, or whatever the fuck they're called, sucked. They sounded like Slayer but with a harder edge to them. And I've been a Slayer fan for years and they just kinda disappointed me.
They had no stage performance what so ever.
TOOL, on the other hand, kicked ass.
Lead singer ummmm...damn his name is slipping my mind....I'll think of it in a sec....was awesome.
Alright...Maynard...damn...don't know why it took me so long to think of it. Maynard kicked ass. His stage performance ruled. It was like he was preaching to you and you alone. He performed each song perfectly.
The visual effects were like nothing I've ever seen. They had 2 video screens playing some of Maynard's random mind fucking shit. Like their music videos.....if you've ever seen them, they're really fucked up. Maynard does all that shit for the band.
At one point, they had these 2 big silver balls....it looked like a bunch of balloons put together....came out of nowhere. They like spun around on the sides of the stage.
Glitter came down from the ceiling for one song.
And they let flags down during another song that had the pictures from the booklet of their latest album. If you've seen it then you'll understand.
In general, the concert just brought back a lot of awesome memories. Like sitting around at Joe's apartment and smoking pot and listening to TOOL. Or then there was tripping and listening to TOOL. It just brought back pleasant memories of old friends and the fun times we used to have together. At one point, I was almost crying, missing the old days.
It was great.
