Hello and Goodnight
It came to my attention recently that people will use Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Evening as a greeting and they seamlessly replace the need to say hello when starting a conversation but for reason people only say good night when they are departing. If you meet someone when you're out at 10pm you would never say good night to them like you would say good morning if it was 10am. Similarly good morning/afternoon/evening aren't used to close a conversation. I don't think I've ever said "Ok, thank you. I'll chat to you later. Good morning.".
The other thing I don't understand is when people say something is as straight as a dog's hind leg when commenting on how crooked something is. Of all the objects that aren't straight, how did a dog's leg beat out the rest of the competition?
I'm not a big fan of coffee or tea. I don't dislike the taste but they don't really do it for me as a beverage. I know a few other people who feel the same way but we are definitely in the minority. I feel like George Costanza in the episode of Seinfeld when he starts to wonder why he doesn't like pesto and why he thinks that he has to like it. I have been able to find the transcript for the episode:
GEORGE: Why do I get pesto? Why do I think I'll like it? I keep trying to like it, like I have to like it.
JERRY: Who said you have to like it?
GEORGE: Everybody likes pesto. You walk into a restaurant, that's all you hear - pesto, pesto, pesto.
Paying for Spotify has been a good decision. The discover feature has uncovered a lost of stinkers but there are a few bands that have found their way into my collection. The latest is The Baptist Generals.
