So, Karen hadn't exactly enjoyed her own little trip in Han Solo's body, but it had been pretty cool once she got over the initial shock. At least from her side of it, anyway. She'd even found Nick's story about waking up with not-her a little more amusing.
It was less than amusing being on this side now, though. Waking up to someone who wasn't

Okay, it was a baby elephant, but the point remained. Elephant. At least the rest of this lady's menagerie managed to stay put. If he had to spend time surrounded by butterflies, he'd be tempted to start freaking the hell out.
No matter what he did, the baby elephant wouldn't leave him alone, so he had no choice but to make his way to Karen' hut to try to find her, and hopfully to also track down his body.
Nick found himself moving with a bit of grace as he came upon Karen, a bit of a natural swing to his hips that he hadn't quite anticipated. He felt... mysterious, like he should be shrouded in secrets and stories and tall tales and just being whatever someone wanted. Just to play the Game.
But it was all a little crazy and nebulous and there was a fucking elephant following him around, so he was having a difficult time concentrating on all the things this body seemed inclined to do that he didn't want to think about ( ... )

On the other hand, baby freaking elephant.
Her eyes went from the woman to the elephant, then back again. "Can I help you?"

But this body, whoever she was, wanted to be mysterious.
"Perhaps," he said, a bit more smoothly than he thought he could manage. He could swear that one eyebrow arched all of its own accord.

"That's not really an answer," she pointed out, and tried not to look at the elephant. What use was it if it wasn't even big enough to ride yet?

He felt rather like he should be flipping a coin or spinning a wheel or something to decide the next move. What he really wanted was a cup of coffee and for the elephant to go somewhere else.
Nick closed his eyes for a long moment, trying to exert some sort of influence over this body that seemed to want to do nothing more than keep people guessing. It was a tough battle.
"Karen, there's an elephant after me and this lady has a bunch of psycho miniatures of everyone on the island and who is in my body?!" he finally blurted in a rush, forcing the words out before the body could reject his idea.

Her mouth opened and closed. "Nick?"

"Who am I? Why is this lady some sort of weird stalker? Why is her hut filled with butterflies?" He looked a little desperately at Karen, and the body fought him every inch of the way. The body wanted poise and grace and slick tricky words. It didn't want Nick's frantic freak-out.

She'd give Nick a day. Then the teasing could start.
"Oh, Nick," she said sympathetically, and stood up. He was still taller than her. "I don't know who she is but hey, at least you're pretty?"

"Am I?" he asked, perking up a little. "I didn't look." He was too busy trying to avoid the need to do things like go into the bathroom or change clothes or anything.
Which meant that he was really going to have to pee pretty soon. He didn't like that idea one bit.

"Well, I mean, I haven't worked out things like how I'm going to change clothes or go to the bathroom or shower or anything, but it could be a lot worse, right?" He ran a hand through his hair, a look of confusion crossing his face until he remembered that there was a lot of hair now.

Speaking of.
"So, I think I might have to take back every single time I laughed about you waking up with Gideon."

"Do I want to know?" he asked, resting one elbow on his knee and cupping his chin in his hand. "Please tell me it's not Grissom or something." He remembered a distinct lack of clothing when he and Karen had fallen asleep the night before, and really, there were some things that Nick's boss just did not need to know.

"I think it's kinda cute," she said, then stood up and walked over to the elephant. She tied the hem of Nick's shirt she was wearing against her waist, then held out a hand to the elephant's trunk. "Hey there, little guy."
