I know that some of you are also fans, so you might find this NPR story about the Dresden Dolls interesting.  In summary, they are touring most of the year, to earn $1,500 per month.  I guess I'm glad I don't have musical talent.

Being their own business is definitely expensive. That's why I'm determined to spend my life working for other people. I don't think I have the perseverence to get through the months and years of working eighty hour weeks for three dollars an hour.

But if the potential rewards are huge. It's like the fact that the average Screen Actors Guild member makes about $5000/year from acting but they almost all dream of making it into that top tier that makes the big bucks.

This reminds me, I should wear my Dresden Dolls tie more often. I'm glad I was able to support them through merchandise!
