Sorry, jawastew , but I consider this to be good news: No more Karen Traviss for Star Wars EU.
To be fair, I haven't read her Clone Wars-era books. I have no desire to dwell on that time period. I watch the show with the boys only has fun fluff and nothing more. I don't dislike her because she killed off Mara. It apparently had to be done for the series, so she drew the short straw. I dislike her work because I know words in Mando, and I don't want to. The Jedi are not magical spoon-benders (or whatever she called them) who should be shoved in a box. And you're oh so amazing hero actually fell in a hole and died in Return of the Jedi. Jaina isn't some pretty, pretty princess who sits around on fluffy furniture doing her nails; she's been a soldier for over half of her life and full well knows what it means to do hard work.
This is not to say that she is the only EU author I can't stand. Denning is infuriating (I only be reading the next book by him because I can get it for free from the library and because I want to rip it apart and I want to see J/J). And if I had to pick between re-reading Lucerno's Millennium Falcon and crappy fanfic on TF.N, bring on the crappy fanfic.
