that was a good night. i'd like to remember it.

so. so, tuesday was a pretty long day at work. then i got home and tara was taping shows i don't like so i couldn't watch tv. and the internet was being stupid, so i couldn't talk to anyone. by 930 i was ready to cut bait and just go to bed.

then i checked the mail.

almost everything crammed into our mailbox was for me.

for starters, i had my verizon cell phone bill which doesn't really sound all that exciting until you know that i knew that i hadn't gone over my minutes or text messages for the month.

then there was a letter from mom which i was expecting but always enojy, which had a check in it (which i also was expecting but always enjoy!!) but also the address to some pizza place owned by a friend of a friend sort of connection, which she was excited for me to check out. i need to mapquest it this afternoon, don't let me forget.

then the boxes:
as part of some direct mail promotion, i received a razor...maybe schick? it's the one with 4 blades. yeah, schick quatro, right? well anyway, i got one. free. sweet. i'll let you know how that works out.

several weeks ago i had received, among other junk email, an offer for "free" business cards. i have been thinking, as i attend all of these rep mtings and collect cards that i should have my own cards again. so, i checked it out. and they really are free! i got like 200 color business cards and i only paid $8.95 for shipping and their logo and website is in very unoffensive small print on the back. (www.vistaprint.com if you're interested!) and they look GREAT!! i'm SO glad i did it. i have my major/minor, email, cell, and permanent address w/ the folks.

AND, the best saved for last: a care package from my darling jeffery ryan cohen!! <3<3<3 inside the padded envelope was a letter, a flogging molly coaster (awesome!! i'm OBSESSED with coasters these days!!) and two The Lovelife Fiasco CDs!!!!!!!!!!!, liner notes and lyrics sheets included. i've told jeff this and now i'm telling you, because it's true: TLF's music is my ideal type of music to listen to. like, there are TONS of stuff i enjoy, and a bunch of stuff i LOVE, but any day of the week i would pick TLF. the happy songs are so...happy! and fun, and silly, and i laugh on the bus when i sing them in my head which actually helps me fit in with all the other crazies who use public transportation. and i don't know why jeff isn't a writing or poetry minor or something, because guys, these songs are great. imagery, internal rhyme schemes, he's got it all.

so the moral of the story is: always check the mail before you go to bed!!
