30 days of Idina (meme) - Day 7
Day 7 - Favourite song from "Here"
Yet again, I have two different answers. Just like the quotes, I can't choose between the more entertaining, catchy songs, or the deeper ones. Melody wise, my favorite song is definitely Here. That song goes through my head while I'm trying to fall asleep sometimes. But it's just a sweet pop song, not anything I can really identify with.
Penny is the song I want to thank Idina for writing over and over. It perfectly vocalizes that constant feeling of inadequacy, and the way her vocals on the track echo slightly gives the illusion of voices in one's head, which makes the whole thing sound even more pathetic. I don't know, something about the melancholy of it makes it really really appeal to me. Those "in my own head" songs are probably my favorites of Idina's all around. They convey such a human emotion, it makes the music feel so much more real than any love song ever could. (But for the record - I'm a sap for sweet songs like Here and So Beautiful too....)
Oh, and by the way - I'M LEAVING FOR SAN FRANCISCO TOMORROW!! I still have a two and a half day drive ahead of me before I get there, but the Idina concert is on Friday night! I'm so excited I could just about, well, melt.
