So I got to do something cool on friday night. 2 of the girls I work with get to go off campus to public school. One of them is taking a photography class and they had a field trip to Waverly Hills Sanatorium...the old TB hospital that is suposedly super haunted. Well, she asked me to go so that she could go and I told her I would, and Maryhurst ( Read more... )

I'm with you on star wars being lame. I never caught the jedi fever.

and I bet the waverly hills experience was neat. I've been wanting to go to their halloween thing ever since I heard about it a few years ago but I haven't gone yet. I've heard for five dollars you can slide down the body slide (on halloween only I think); that would be the slide they'd send the dead ones down to an incinerator or a "dump truck" of sorts I think. Somehow, in my little brain, I'd classify that as equally disturbing as say...digging up some dead person's bones and dancing with them in the pale moon light.

According to them, the body chute didn't send bodies to an incinerator or drump truck. They just used it so that the other patients wouldn't see all the dead bodies being removed over and over every day. A hearse would pick the body up at the bottom. They told us we could go down it when I was there, but they said its a really long walk back up, and the kid I was with didn't want to do it. It would have been distrubing...ick.

i went to that waverly haunted house they have every year a few years ago, and it was pretty lame considering how creepy and awesome that place looks from the outside. but i'm pretty sure they don't even really take you to the real hospital, just the ground floor entrance or something stupid like that. the creepiest part by far was the body slide though, i could be totally wrong but i'm pretty sure the guy that was talking to us said it ran all the way under dixie highway. which is crazy. anyway, i made a mental note to come back during the day sometime and try to get an actual tour of the place, but have never done that and wasn't even sure if they did those. but i guess they do? i should check it out, that stuff is so interesting to me. this is really long, sorry.

I don't know if they do tours during the day, because this one started at 11:30 at night, but we went through all the levels of the hospital. It was worth going.

Tarrah and I were just talking about that place after lunch.

I'm assuming you saw the newest star wars, ... everything but the computer graphics is teeerrrrrible in that one.

you didn't like it? how could you not love that awful dialoge? it was pure poetry... and the burning-alive scene set against the childish plotline? ...blinding rays of pure brillance cast down from heaven!

... oh man, that george lucas is one incredible shiester. you win, mr. lucas, you tricked us again!

That place gave me an anxiety attack. And some lady in our little group offered me a sedative that she had in her car and some of her beer. You know it's a good haunted house if they are selling brewskies!

I also ran into a wall full speed trying to espace and messed up my elbows and knees!
