(no subject)
so i just had one of the most awesome days i've ever had at work.
I hadn't been there since Saturday, so when I got there, one of my girls gave me a big hug and told me she had missed me, then gave me this little box she had painted and decorated for me that just said "Ms.Paris, I'm going to miss you, thanks for being there." - she is more than likely going to be leaving while I'm gone to Australia and I'm actually really going to miss her too. Its not very often that I like and care about a kid as much as I do for her.
THEN, one girl had been in my face while she was going off after I had restrained her and transported her, telling me that she was going to fucking kill me, going to get a knife and stab it in to my brain, that her sister was going to come up and blow my head off with a gun and so on. This happens pretty often and does not affect me so much anymore. So I just stared in to her eyes while she said this and prayed for her and tried to convey a look that said "you're not scaring me, you're not hurting me, and I still care about you" Later, after she had calmed down, she actually apologized. Which is something this child has NEVER done. That made me really happy.
THEN, theres this girl who was staring in my eyes making pretty similar threats last week, except she added "I'm going to bust your fucking skull open, and give you fucking brain damage and come to your grave to laugh at it." I also tried to pray for her while she said this. She's a very mean and unhappy kid who always announces her disbelief in God. Anyway, tonight I was doing room checks pretty late, and she said she felt scared so I talked to her for a second and she said "ms.paris, do you pray?" and I said "Yes" and she said "Will you pray for me?" and I said "yes" and she said "are you serious" and I said "I'm so serious that I'll do it right here and now"
so I stood in her room in the dark and prayed for her.
