i really hate when latins mix up their bs and vs. or when they put unnecessary
hs in front of words that start with e or o.

anyway, this week was really great. my companion and i are working hard and its
paying off. we got two people with baptismal dates this week. i put the dates
with them in the first visit and tehy both accepted. i can really see how the
Lord is blessing me for my diligence in doing my contacts and talking with
people without fear. sweet, yeah?

last monday after i wrote emails, i went with my friend and fellow elder, elder
ferrante, who's from west covina, to get our hair cut. the barber was cutting
this guys hair when we got in there, and by the time he finished his client was
asleep. so the barber started to shake him a little, but he didn't wake up. then
he shook him harder. nothing. so he just smacks the guy like, really really hard
on the top of his head, and he just sort of leans forward asleep. so then a
coworker goes a grabs the guy and they throw him in a waiting chair. yeah, the
guys was totally drunk. i dont really get it though, cause when the guy came in
he was okay, but by the end he was just completely out. anyway, it gets better.
the guy is just covered in hair and he's totally just out in this chair. every
minute he would start to slide in his chair, until the point when he was like
resting his tailbone on the edge of the chair. then i went in the barber's chair
and got my haircut, and the guy totally fell out. then the barber and his
coworker dragged the guy through all the hair on the tile and threw him out on
the sidewalk. the barber kept cutting my hair, and then the coworker went
outside and came back with the $1.15 the guy owed for his haircut. he totally
fished it out of his pocket! im not gonna lie, it was probably one of the most
absurd things ive seen. i kind of was trying really hard not to laugh. and then
the office came on tv and i was trying really hard not to laugh, but luckily my
chair wasnt pointing toward the tv. all i remember was steve corell (huh?)
calling dwight a narc... yeah.

anyway, all is going pretty well. as some of you remembered, this week is my
year mark. its really kind of a strange thing. like... i think... wow, ive
already done a year! and then i think, man... ive only done ONE year! what the
heck!?!?!? but everyone says that the last year goes by even faster. not like im
wishing my time away, but i honestly cant wait for the day when i can walk down
the street without having to talk to strangers. and when i can put my feet on
carpet again. and read harry potter. and listen to the streets. shoot. but yeah,
its weird, a year ago i think i must have been giving my talk in church and then
getting set apart by president sheffield. and it was a year ago to the day that
we took our family picture. so yeah. time has gone by fast, but when i think
about it, like... shoot, ive learned a new language in that time. so it cant
have gone THAT fast, ya know?

anyway, i hope everybody is having a fantastic summer. seasons dont really exist
out here, but its been raining a lot more. i think i might need some new shoes
(cough cough echos, size 45, black, square toed, cough cough... soon... cough
cough...) but my boots are holding up really well. my rockports were already
dying in the mtc. dang you rockport. but yeah, its weird to know that this time
next year ill have like a week left. i guess that means seth only has like 6
months left. then when he finishes ill only have 6 months left. im sure itll all
come pretty quickly.

anyway, im going to end transmission here. i love you all and hope everything
keeps yendo bien.

love,

andrew
