Tada! A couple of weeks ago, a bunch of aspiring authors headed down to EagleBay to do some serious critting work on their novels. I haven't talked a lot about it, as it was a complete unknown for me, but the experience was incredible. We've all come back brimming with ideas and enthusiasm, and one of the things we're doing is writing a group blog. The blog is hopefully to help other writers do crit retreats and be generally helpful. A huge thank you to ROR for the ideas, all their help, and their support in advice, time, and emails.
The new blog is called
Egoboo WA, a bit of a fannish joke based on how we write for the egoboo(st). We kept the numbers down, and every one had to have already finished their novel. We spent four weeks critiquing them, but weren't allowed to talk about them until we sat down for the crits.
The whole process has been a fascinating learning curve. I'm hanging out with people who have a much more impressive writing career than myself, and people who have identified as writers for much longer than me. This is pretty much an official coming out, of declaring to the world that I'm a writer, and that I'm serious about it now. Bit of a surprise. I thought we were just setting up a group blog!
Anyway, with five of us to contribute, there should be something new every few days. We're still ironing this out, and it's still in it's infancy, but please come along with us for the ride.
Welcome to the Egoboo WA blog!
